Japanese manufacturing traditionally carries with it a commitment
with perfection, quality, and attention to detail. Lenses are no exception.
In Fukui Prefecture, Japanese artisans have mastered this hobby since
The first lens workshops and factories were established in 1905
Commissioning Gramo to this ancestral heritage ensures the quality and precision of our
frames in a fair, respectful and exploitation-free trade model,
which enriches the ties and cultural exchanges between Mexico and Japan.
Gramo's history dates back to the late 19th century, when the first ophthalmologist, our great-grandfather, Graue, opened his office in downtown Mexico City. Today, four generations of ophthalmologists and 100 years of history later, Gramo lenses continue Dr. Graue Glennie's legacy with the same goal: to improve the vision of Mexicans.
This family-run company aims to create perfectly crafted and designed eyewear that reflects the cultural richness of the city that witnessed its growth.
The design inspired by Mexico City, its history, and its hidden gems found the finest craftsmanship in Japan to shape our frames, crafted from titanium, stainless steel, and Mazzuchelli acetate to ensure exceptional durability and comfort.
In our collections of both ophthalmic and sunglasses, you'll find classic shapes like cat-eye and aviators, as well as more avant-garde ones...
