Atlacuihuayan, “the place where water is taken”, was a summer town before it was a city. What remains of that Tacubaya is the Dominican convent, Parque Lira, the work of Luis Barragán, and the Edificio Ermita, which faces forward from the vertex of two avenues.

The frame takes that frontality: a classic square silhouette in light acetate, with round temples and square rivets. Double-barrel hinges. A shape that looks for posture rather than a flattering angle.

Designed in Mexico and handmade in Japan by artisans devoted to making frames of excellent quality. Also available as sunglasses.

Tacubaya

There is a book whose title summarizes very well the historical development of this area 10 kilometers to the southwest of the Zócalo: Tacubaya.
