The Monumento a la Revolución began as something else: the dome of the Legislative Palace Porfirio Díaz commissioned and the war left half-built. Rather than demolish it, a new meaning was found for it. The skeleton stayed, the meaning changed.
The frame works that same tension between the straight and the softened: a rectangular front with lightly hexagonal edges, in thick acetate with flat temples. Triple-barrel hinges.
