Cuitláhuac governed Tenochtitlan for eighty days. He was the tlatoani who organized the expulsion of the Spanish in 1520 and died of smallpox before the year was out. His name survives in a causeway that crosses the city from east to west.

The frame answers with the same economy: a square silhouette with soft edges, in thick and highly durable acetate, with flat temple tips. Parallelogram rivets and triple-barrel hinges, built to last longer than expected.

Designed in Mexico and handmade in Japan by artisans devoted to making frames of excellent quality. Also available as sunglasses.
